Because the audience just saw a bathroom resolution scene ten minuetes prior to this scene, a viewer can assume this conversation will lead to a resolution. The setting itself is confined, meant to force the characters to confront their truths out in the open. Acknowledging their vulnerabilities, the characters are finally able to communicate and have a seemingly strong connection as the film comes to an end. It is truly interesting how the director manipulates settings in her favor to work hand and hand with the theme of communication within this film.

Instead of just Alan, Dana, and Ali, this time Ben and Pat are apart of the restaurant scene. The family is all together at the end of the film because of the communication that led them to be in this position, agreed communication and unity was one with this movie and the girls look to one another for support all the way through it especially Ali

The way you linked setting to communication is interesting. I agree, the same settings were used so that the audience could clearly see the difference in emotions and communication even if the characters aren't saying much.
